  Camon 30 5G Design, Body and Display

  Tecno took time to design an authentic flagship smartphone with great aesthetics. Tecno Camon 30 5G has a sleek and elegant design and solid build quality. The phone’s body has a plastic frame that gives it a lightweight feel. It measures 165.4 x 75.9 x 7.8 mm or 8.0 mm and weighs around 200 grams. The phone has a glass front and a glass back or a silicone polymer back (eco-leather), depending on the color variant (black, blue, and green colorways).

  It comes installed with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2436 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display also supports DCI-P3 color gamut and Always-on display.  These features collectively provide a unique viewing experience, cinematic viewing even when watching content for a long time.  Embedded under the display is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display, which provides convenient and secure unlocking of the phone.

  Although decent, the quality of pictures and videos recorded by the camera sets is not exceptional. The main camera can capture detailed photos and videos in good lighting conditions, but it may struggle in low-light or dynamic scenes. Notably, the selfie camera can take stunning selfies with AI beautification, but it may overexpose the background or smoothen the skin too much.

  Camon 5G runs on Android 14 with HIOS 14 skin on top. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset, which has an octa-core CPU (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 and 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) and an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. For a mid-range 5 G-enabled smartphone, the Camon is well equipped for modest performance as far as multi-tasking, gaming, and internet browsing are concerned. However, based on benchmark scores, it may not be able to compete with the flagship devices in terms of performance. The phone has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.
